It’s a powerful, yet simple way to build and play your own worlds, stories, and games. Share all of your creations to a dynamic community, and play what the community makes.   • Responsible for developing starter pack and downloadable content including designing and building levels, AI behaviors, and player mechanics that provided easily modifiable gameplay to creators and players.
  • Designed and created Content Pack showcase levels intended to give players an interactive way to explore what each pack contains.

Levels

Goblin Wing

Arcade flying game with top score, limited time, and rings which when flown through increase your score or the amount of time you have to play.

  • Featured at E3, SIGGRAPH, Gamescon, in trailers, and in Twitch live streams.
  • Shows off scoring, timed gameplay, flight, and in-game terrain modification.
  • Playable with controller or mouse and keyboard.
Responsibilities:
  • Level and gameplay design and development.
  • Collaborating with art and sound on the look and feel of the level.
  • Maintaining the level for demos and release to the public.

Defender

Tower defense with controllable towers and infinite waves of enemies.

  • Featured in several trailers and Twitch live streams.
  • Shows off in-game enemy and object spawning, pathing, multiple player control types, two types of towers, and two types of enemies.
  • Playable with mouse and keyboard or touch.
Responsibilities
  • Level, enemy, and tower design and development.
  • Collaborating with art and sound on the look and feel of the level.
  • Maintaining level for demos and release to the public.

Content Packs

Starter Pack

The Starter Pack is a collection of Characters, Props, VFX, Sounds, Assemblies, and Brains that players get for free when they download the game.

  • Provide players with a wide variety of basic mechanics, behaviors, scenarios, and encounters that easily lend themselves to the Action Adventure genre.
  • Contains gameplay content that can be dropped into the world to instantly give players an encounter to play with and build off of.
  • Mechanics are driven completely by Kodu with three levels of difficulty beginner, moderate, and advanced.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and designing default behaviors and assemblies which are meant to provide plug in play experiences to users.
  • Tuning and maintaining props in order to give players interesting and fun out-of-the-box experiences.
  • On-boarded and mentored new members of the design team.

Knights’ Training Camp

The Knights’ Training Camp Content Pack gives users a new Champion, 2 characters, and several new props, VFX, sounds, assemblies, and brains. Everything they need to create their own training encampments for Knights and Squires.

  • Bring your world to life and add a training camp atmosphere to any level.
  • Great examples of using Kodu to build NPC behaviors and interactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and tweaking the showcase level intended to show what players get when they buy the pack.
  • Designing and adding a combat section to the showcase level so that players could try out the included Champion’s abilities.
  • Designing, documenting, and building the brains and assemblies.
  • Tuning and maintaining the characters, props, brains, and assemblies for release to the public.
  • Collaborating with art and sound on the look and feel of the showcase level.
